EAMCET

EAMCET is a state wide exam conducted by the Javaharlal Nehru Technological university in Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh. This exam is taken by about 2.5lakh students every year. About 250 colleges offer admissions by the ranks in EAMCET.

Exam Notification:

The notification for the exam will be released in the month of February.
The application cost is 250Rs.

Exam:
The exam will be held in the first week of may.

The pattern for the exam will be as follows:
mathematics - 80 questions
physics - 40 questions
chemistry - 40 questions

total 160 questions

each question carries 1 mark. And there is no negative marking for the wrong answer.

Counselling:

Counselling will be conducted in the month of August.

Counselling Details:

Phase 1 counselling:

The qualified and eligible candidates of EAMCET-2008 (Engineering & B.Pharmacy-MPC stream) of all local areas whose categories and ranks mentioned below are informed to attend the counselling in any one of the six counselling centres viz., Hyderabad, Warangal, Guntur, Vizag, Tirupathi & Kadapa as per the programme schedule. Fresh candidates shall bring all original certificates including Caste and Income certificates if applicable and one set of Xerox copies of all certificates as mentioned in the earlier notification. Already admitted candidates shall bring previous Provisional Allotment Order, Fee Receipt along with the original Integrated Caste Certificate and one set of Xerox copies of all certificates.

In the first phase of counselling students from ranks 1- 54,000 are eligible. For the shedule of this counselling visit the EAMCET official website.

Candidates should produce all certificates in ORIGINAL viz.,

(1) EAMCET-2007 Rank card and Hall ticket (2) Intermediate Pass cum Memorandum of Marks

(3) Certificate indicating the Date of Birth (SSC or its equivalent) (4) Study Certificates from 6th class to Intermediate

(5) Residence Certificate for preceding 7 years of the qualifying examination i.e. Intermediate or its equivalent in respect of candidates who have private study without any institutionalized education,

(6) Integrated Community certificate issued by the competent authority and Father’s Caste Certificate in case of BC/SC/ST candidates,

(7) Residence certificate of father or mother for a period of 10 years in A.P. excluding the period of their employment outside A.P. from M.R.O. in case of Non local candidates.

After the phase-1 counselling phase-2 web counselling will start after 15-20 of gap.

Fee Structure:

Tuition fee in University Engineering/ Pharmacy colleges is Rs. 10,000/- p.a. and in un-aided Private Engineering / Pharmacy Colleges is Rs. 30,200/- p.a. An extra tuition fee amount of Rs. 2,000/- p.a. will be collected over and above Rs. 30,200/- for such of the courses which are given accreditation by the NBA in any private un-aided Engineering / Pharmacy colleges as long as such accreditation exists for such courses in that college. In addition, OC/BC candidates will have to pay Rs.200/- towards Registration fee and Rs.500/- towards counselling fee. SC/ST candidates will have to pay Rs.100/- towards Registration fee and Rs.300/- towards counselling fee. SC / ST / BCC candidates are exempted from paying tuition fee if their parental income from all sources is less than Rs.1,00,000/- per annum. The income certificate issued by M.R.O. after 01-01-2007 will alone be accepted. In addition to the Income Certificate, candidate has to submit his/her father’s / mother’s salary certificate if the parents are employed. Fee shall be remitted in the form of Demand Draft / Pay Order drawn in favour of Convenor, EAMCET-2008 Admissions payable at Hyderabad or in cash at the bank counters available in all venues. Fee shall be paid in full at the time of counselling and no part payment will be accepted. Some of the Minority Colleges (Muslim/Christian) have opted to Convenor Window (SW-1) for EAMCET-2008 admissions. As such the minority candidates attending for this counselling can also exercise option for admission into their respective minority colleges if they desire so.
